"UAE Pass won't let me in."
A quick word before we start.
This is filing support, not legal advice. Ejaries.ae is a private service. It is not a government website, and it is not affiliated with the Dubai Land Department or with RERA.
You can always register your ejaries yourself — through the Dubai REST app or at a trustee centre. The official fee on the app is 177 dirhams and 50 fils. Our service fee is 299 dirhams plus VAT.
The certificate is always issued by RERA. We prepare and check your file and follow it through. We do not issue the certificate, and we cannot guarantee an approval or a timing.
Before you can register your ejaries in the app, you usually have to prove who you are. The recommended way to do that is UAE Pass, the national digital identity. When it works, it is genuinely good — one login for a great many government services, and no arguing about who you are.
But there is a whole group of people for whom it does not work yet. And for them, the wall is not the registration. It is the front door. They never even reach the part of the app that asks about their tenancy, because they cannot get past the part that asks about them.
The person who landed last week and has not set up UAE Pass at all. Their Emirates ID may still be in process. The digital identity that everyone around them assumes they already have simply is not there yet, and cannot be conjured on demand.
The person whose verification simply broke. The face check will not pass, again and again, for no reason they can see. The account is half activated, stranded between started and finished. The system will not recognise them, and there is no one on the other side of the screen to ask.
The person who set it up once, long ago, on a phone they no longer own, and cannot get back in, and does not have the appetite to untangle a forgotten identity today of all days.
For all of them, the tenancy is fine. The documents are fine. It is the identity step that is holding a completely valid registration hostage. The case is ready. The door is jammed.
We always tell you the honest route before our own. That is the rule of this desk, and it does not bend just because a login is misbehaving. UAE Pass is recommended, but it is not the only way into the official system. You can often register using your Emirates ID number, or a residence visa number, instead.
So if your only problem is UAE Pass, and you do have a valid Emirates ID, it is worth trying that route in the app first. It is free, it is quick, and it may be all you needed. Many people who assumed they were locked out were simply looking at the wrong door. We would rather tell you that and lose the case than let you pay for something you did not need. A desk that sells you a service you could have skipped is not one you should come back to.
But sometimes it still does not open. The Emirates ID is not issued yet. The details do not match what the system holds. The person has no working digital identity at all, and a deadline that will not wait for one to be built.
That is where the desk comes in. We file on your behalf, through our own access to the system, so your missing or broken login stops being the thing that blocks your ejaries. You are not logging in anymore. We are. You are simply giving us the documents and the go-ahead, and the identity step that defeated you is no longer standing in your way.
The obvious advice, when a login is broken, is to wait. Fix the UAE Pass. Get the Emirates ID issued. Come back when the front door works. And sometimes that genuinely is the right advice, and we will give it.
But a lot of the time, the person cannot wait, and it is not their fault that they cannot. The ejaries is holding up a visa step, or a utility connection, or something with a date attached. The identity problem might take days to untangle, and the thing depending on the ejaries does not have days to give. So the choice is not really between waiting and paying. It is between a deadline slipping while a login gets fixed, and the registration going ahead now, through our access, while the person sorts their digital identity at their own pace afterwards. When the clock is real, we do not make you choose the login over the deadline. We take the login out of the way.
If your login works, or your Emirates ID route works, the app is 177 dirhams and 50 fils and you should use it. There is nothing we can do that you cannot do for free once you are through the door. If your identity step is broken and you are stuck outside the system, our fee is 299 dirhams plus VAT, and what you are paying for is a way in that does not depend on a login you cannot make work today.
The distinction is simple. If the front door opens for you, walk through it. If it does not, that is precisely the lock we were built to get around — properly, not by any trick.
One thing we will never do is anything improper with your identity. We file with your documents and your authority, on your instruction. The certificate is issued by RERA into the correct tenancy record. We open the door. We do not forge a key, and we would send you away before we did.
Next time, we widen the lens. Not one broken step, but the person for whom everything is new at once. The person who landed last week and simply needs someone to handle it.
This was The Ejari Desk. I'm Stephen.
Do I have to use UAE Pass to register an Ejari?
No. UAE Pass is the recommended route, but you can often register using your Emirates ID number or a residence visa number instead. If your only problem is UAE Pass and you have a valid Emirates ID, try that free route in the app first.
What if my Emirates ID isn't issued yet and I have a deadline?
That's where the desk files on your behalf through its own access, so a missing or broken login stops blocking the registration while you sort your digital identity at your own pace afterwards.
Is it proper for someone else to file when my login won't work?
Yes — it's filed with your documents and your authority, on your instruction, and the certificate is issued by RERA into the correct tenancy record. Nothing improper is done with your identity.
